Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is not interested in loaning out Michy Batshuayi in January despite the striker’s desire to play more, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Batshuayi, 23, was heavily sought after in the summer after impressing for Marseille last season but it was Chelsea who won the race to sign the forward in a deal worth £33m.
Diego Costa’s stunning form has limited the Belgium international to just 78 minutes of league action in the Premier League this season and West Ham, who missed out on his signature in the summer, are keen to take him on loan until the end of the season when the January transfer window opens.
However, Chelsea are not interested in sending the forward on loan in January and want to keep him at the club to fill in for Costa when needed over the remainder of the season, meaning West Ham will have to look at alternative options.
Despite being limited to just 10 substitute appearances in the league this season, Batshuayi has still managed to score one goal and register an assist, although he hasn’t played a direct hand in a league goal since August (vs Watford).
