Kane urges boss to pen new contract

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has urged manager Mauricio Pochettino to sign a new deal at the club, reports The Sun.

Pochettino is in high demand following a superb season at the White Hart Lane helm, with Spurs currently second in the Premier League table.

Despite being less than two years into a five-year deal, Spurs are keen to ward off interest in Pochettino and reports suggest a new five-year deal worth £5.5m-per-year is on the table.

And Kane has admitted he wants the 44-year-old to commit his future to the north London side, saying: "He's a great manager and you want the best managers around the world at our club.

"When you have top managers you want them to stay around for a long time. You can see how the rest of the team has improved under him."

Kane has been one of the main beneficiaries during Pochettino's reign at the club, netting more Premier League goals (22) than any other player this season.
