Dyche reiterates commitment to Burnley amid Everton links

Sean Dyche insists he is only focusing on the job at hand at Burnley despite being flattered by talk of taking over the vacant post at Everton.

The Toffees are currently looking for a new manager after sacking Ronald Koeman at the start of the week and Dyche’s name has been heavily linked with the job.

David Unsworth has been placed in interim charge of Everton and will have the chance to stake his own claim for the permanent job, but Dyche is still one of the frontrunners.

However, Dyche has reiterated his commitment to Burnley despite revealing he is flattered by Everton’s reported interest.

“You’re always flattered at your work being recognised,” The Daily Mail quote Dyche as saying. “It’s right that I get asked about it of course and they are another good club. But I’m respectful of this club.

“It hasn’t changed. I’ve said a few times at varying clubs being mentioned. You just get on with it.

“I’ve had experience of it, more so the last couple of years. I just continue to get on with it. Times have changed with different ownership and with the fans and coaches from afar.”

The 46-year-old is approaching his fifth anniversary as Burnley manager and in that time he has twice led the Clarets to the Premier League.

The Clarets are currently well positioned in eighth in the Premier League this season and have already taken points away to Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton.
