Athletic Club defender Aymeric Laporte insists he would reject an offer from Barcelona if the opportunity presented itself.
Laporte, 21, is regarded as one of the best up-and-coming defenders in Europe and has been regularly linked with a move to the reigning European champions.
“They’re [Barcelona] one of the most important clubs in the world, but I would reject an offer from them,” Laporte told Telefoot.
“They haven’t made contact with me to make me an offer, either this season or before that. But I wouldn’t be interested.”
The France Under-21 international still has three years remaining on his current deal at the San Mames and is expected to remain at the club until then at the very least.
No Athletic player has picked up more bookings than Laporte in La Liga this season (7).
