Hoffenheim boss ramps up interest in Bayern Munich role

Hoffenheim head coach Julian Nagelsmann has intensified speculation he will become Bayern Munich boss in the future after calling Munich ‘home’.

Nagelsmann is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young coaches in Europe after achieving great success with Hoffenheim at the age of 30.

Hoffenheim achieved their highest ever finish in the Bundesliga last season after Nagelsmann guided the club to fourth and the rookie coach even masterminded a 2-0 win over Bayern at the weekend.

Nagelsmann has been touted as a future Bayern manager and with Carlo Ancelotti continuing to underwhelm in the current position, that day may come sooner rather than later.

“Well, it [Munich] is definitely of importance to me,” Nagelsmann told Eurosport, via Get German Football. “I am from, or rather have lived, in Munich for many years. My wife and my kid are going to move to Munich soon, we are building a house; therefore we do have a close bond to this area. It is our home.

“And even if I am not going to coach Bayern, I will still be a happy person whenever I do die. I am very, very happy with my life. And Bayern might even make me a little happier, but that doesn’t say that my happiness depends on Bayern.”

Nagelsmann has impressively won just less than half of his matches in charge of Hoffenheim (48.2%), while they are currently unbeaten in their last 19 home league games.
