Marseille will attempt to sign Chelsea defender Papy Djilobodji when the transfer window reopens next month, according to Foot Mercato.
Djilobodji, 27, was a shock £2.7m signing by Chelsea from Nantes in the final hours of the transfer window at the start of the season and is yet to make his first-team bow in the Premier League.
The Senegal international put pen to paper on a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge but reports in France claim Marseille are hoping the central defender back to Ligue 1 on an initial loan deal.
Djilobodji’s only minutes so far have come when he replaced Falcao in their League Cup triumph over Walsall in second half injury time. However, he finished last season as Nantes highest rated player, according to WhoScored (7.34).
