Injury setback for United star

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has suffered a setback in his return from knee injury and will be sidelined for a further month, reports The Daily Mirror.

Rooney, 30, hasn’t featured for United since the start of February when he injured his knee in the 2-1 defeat to Sunderland and had originally been expected to make his return against his former side Everton at the beginning of April.

However, the United captain could now be sidelined for a further four weeks after suffering a setback in his rehabilitation, leaving him a major doubt to prove his fitness in time for the Euros in the summer.

The England captain had recently returned to form prior to his injury, having started the season poorly. In fact, no United player has scored more league goals than Rooney this season (7).
