Paris Saint-Germain agree deal for Emery successor

Thomas Tuchel has agreed a two-year deal to become Paris Saint-Germain’s new head coach at the end of the season, claims German outlet BILD.

The 44-year-old has been out of work since being sacked as Borussia Dortmund boss at the end of last season.

Tuchel has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League since then but it has now emerged his next job will be in France.

PSG are expected to sack Emery at the end of the season following two underwhelming years at the club.

The French giants lost out on the league title to Monaco last season before making Neymar and Kylian Mbappe the two most expensive signings of all-time last summer.

However, Emery’s side crashed out of this season’s Champions League at the round of 16 and now PSG are set to pull the trigger and change direction.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been heavily linked with the top job at the Parc des Princes but it appears they have now turned to free agent Tuchel.

The German will be given an initial two years to prove his worth to the club but will have an option to a further 12 months if things go according to plan.

Tuchel is widely regarded as one of the most exciting managers in Europe after enhancing his reputation during his two-year stint at Dortmund.

He failed to dethrone Bayern Munich in the league but did win the DFB-Pokal in his final game in charge of the club.

In 107 matches in charge of Dortmund, Tuchel finished with a win ratio of 64.5% in all competitions, only losing on 18 occasions.
