Chelsea and Manchester United lead shock race for Lewandowski

Chelsea and Manchester United are the frontrunners to sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, claims The Sun.

Lewandowski is considering his future at Bayern and would like to move to the Premier League if he decides he wants out of Germany this summer.

The Poland international recently changed agent with a view to brokering a huge summer move and Chelsea and United are frontrunners for his signature.

Both Premier League giants splashed out huge fees to bolster their offensive options in the summer but may re-evaluate if Lewandowski becomes available.

The 30-year-old is regarded as one of the best strikers on the planet but still has more than two years left to run on his current Bayern deal.

Hertha Berlin prevented Lewandowski from scoring in what would have been a record-setting 12th successive home league match on Saturday.

Nevertheless, only Edinson Cavani and Sergio Aguero (both 15) have scored more home league goals than Lewandowski (14) in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
