Turkish giants interested in shock move for Chelsea striker
Turkish giants Besiktas and Fenerbahce are both interested in signing Chelsea striker Diego Costa on a six-month loan deal, reports The Daily Mail.
Costa failed to secure a return to Atletico Madrid during the summer but has now emerged as a surprise target for Turkish sides before their transfer window closes on Friday.
The 28-year-old is still expected to join Atletico in January but his immediate future remains unclear after falling out with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte at the end of last season.
Fenerbahce are desperate to bolster their offensive options before Friday’s deadline following news Robin van Persie will be sidelined after suffering a knee injury during the international break.
Besiktas are also a striker short after opting against extending Vincent Aboubakar’s stay over the summer, but it remains to be seen whether either Turkish side have the time or the resources to pull off such a complex deal.
Of players that have scored more than 15 goals in the last four Premier League campaigns, Costa has the best conversion rate (20.4%).
