Chelsea’s €60m bid for Spaniard rejected

Real Madrid will not sell Alvaro Morata this summer and integrate the striker into their first-team plans, according to Marca.

Morata, 23, has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League since Madrid opted to exercise their £23m buyback clause from Juventus.

Chelsea reportedly had a €60m (£51m) bid for the Spain international rejected on Saturday with Florentino Perez keen to see more youth in the Madrid team next season.

Arsenal have also been heavily linked with a move for the striker but both Premier League clubs will now be forced to look elsewhere after Madrid made it clear they would not be selling him this summer.

Morata has only scored 15 league games in his last two seasons and only Dries Mertens (41) was subbed on more times than Morata (36) in that time in Serie A.
