Chelsea have earmarked Alessio Romagnoli as the ideal defender to replace John Terry at the end of the season, according to Calciomercato.
Terry’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and there is currently no offer on the table from Chelsea to extend his stay.
And it would seem Chelsea have already begun drawing up a shortlist of candidates to replace their captain, with Romagnoli currently at the top.
The Italy Under-21 international has featured in all but three of Milan’s league games this season and has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal.
In fact, only two Milan players have been used more in the league than Romagnoli this season (2,022).
