Brazilian midfielder Casemiro has reiterated he never wanted to leave Real Madrid this summer despite interest from rival European clubs.
Casemiro, 24, emerged as a key player for Zinedine Zidane last season at the base of their midfield during their Champions League triumph.
The defensive midfielder’s performances had led to a flurry of interest from rival clubs with some even reportedly happy to shell out €50m (£42.3m) for his services.
“[I was thinking] I never want to leave here,” Casemiro told Marca, via Sky Sports.
“My family and I are so happy in Madrid and at this club that for me it is impossible to think about another team or place, however much money is behind it.”
Despite only making 25 appearances in league since the start of last season Casemiro has made more tackles than any other player for Madrid in La Liga (87).
