Manchester City target switches agent to Guardiola’s brother

Sporting midfielder William Carvalho has swapped representatives from Jorge Mendes to the brother of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, Pere, reports Spanish outlet AS.

Carvalho, 24, is reportedly a player that has emerged as a summer target for Guardiola, who is keen to revamp his midfield options at the end of the current season.

Mendes’ Gestifute agency previously represented the Portugal international but any team interested in signing the Sporting ace will now have to go through Pere Guardiola.

City are not the only team that have been linked with a move for the Euro 2016 winner, with Real Madrid also reportedly interested as they seek cover for Casemiro at the base of their midfield, but his move away from Mendes would make a deal slightly harder for Zinedine Zidane’s side.

Only two players have won possession in the middle third more times in the Portuguese Liga Nos this season than Carvalho (105).
