Pato set for Premier League move

Alexandre Pato is on the verge of a move to Liverpool, according to Corinthians president Roberto de Andrade.

The Brazilian was strongly linked with a move to Premier League pairing Manchester United and Tottenham over the summer, though no transfer materialised.

De Andrade, though, has admitted that a deal to secure a switch to the Reds is all but done, with tuttomercato.web suggesting that the move will cost Liverpool £14.3m.

"There is an agreement in principle with Liverpool for the transfer in the coming weeks. Pato had long expressed an interest to return to Europe," De Andrade said.

"Liverpool await, there are a few missing details, but (Jurgen) Klopp will have a new reinforcement and for Pato the Premier League will be a new springboard."
