Barcelona forward Neymar has revealed he held talks with Manchester United over the summer.
United were suggested to be considering a world record bid for the Brazil international over the summer as Louis van Gaal scoured the market for a world-class addition to his squad.
The Premier League outfit eventually shelled out an initial £36m for 19-year-old striker Anthony Martial, but Neymar admits talks did take place between the two.
“There were talks [with United] but nothing materialised and I didn’t receive any offers,” he told ESPN Brasil.
The 23-year-old’s started the season in fine fashion having scored three goals in his four league appearances. In fact, only four other players have garnered a higher WhoScored rating across Europe’s top five leagues (8.21).
