Manchester United are considering negotiating with Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua over an extension to Odion Ighalo's loan deal, which is set to expire today, reports Goal.com.
The striker joined United in January in what was a surprise move for the Premier League side as they sought to strengthen their frontline.
However, Ighalo has quickly established himself as a fan favourite at Old Trafford and United are pondering the idea to try and extend his stay until the end of the season.
Ighalo joined on a short-term loan deal until May 31st, when the campaign should have already ended, yet the Coronavirus pandemic and subsequent postponement to the season means there are still nine games to play.
United are looking to extend his stay until January 2021 or, at the very least, allow the Nigerian to play out the season, which is set to resume on June 17th.
There is growing confidence that a last-minute deal can be agreed for the striker, who has impressed for United.
