Chelsea have announced Callum Hudson-Odoi has put pen to paper on a new five-year deal running until the summer of 2024 to end any uncertainty about his future at the club.
Hudson-Odoi had entered the final 12 months of his previous contract and was heavily linked with a blockbuster move to Bayern Munich.
The 18-year-old grew disillusioned about a lack of playing time under Maurizio Sarri last season and was keen to join Bayern.
Bayern have had four bids for Hudson-Odoi rejected by Chelsea since the start of the year but the Blues have finally secured the teenager’s long-term future.
Despite just having four Premier League starts to his name, Chelsea have issued Hudson-Odoi with reported £120,000-a-week wages.
After losing star man Eden Hazard, Chelsea have gone to great lengths to prevent Hudson-Odoi from leaving after earmarking the England international as the future of the club’s attack.
Hudson-Odoi has missed the start of the season after sustaining a serious Achilles injury in April but is back in full training and closing in on a first-team return.
The Chelsea starlet played a direct hand in six goals in nine Europa League appearances last season, compared to just one assist in 10 Premier League appearances.
