Ex-Chelsea defender extends stay at PSV

PSV Eindhoven have announced Jeffrey Bruma has signed a new two-year deal keeping him at the club until the summer of 2018.

Bruma, 24, has entered the final six months of his current deal and would have been a steal for anyone to capture his signature on a free at the end of the season.

However, PSV have managed to secure his services for a further two years and the former Chelsea central defender is very happy to have extended his stay.

“This is my third season with PSV. When I joined PSV, we set ourselves some goals and they have all been realised,” Brume told the club’s official website. “By signing this new contract, I want to make it clear I’m very happy here.

“We have been crowned champions and I play for my country. It shows that the staff here are behind me and have given their confidence with a new contract.

“I know anything can happen in the world of football, but I will not leave PSV for just any other club that shows an interest in me.”
