Bayern Munich midfielder hints at summer exit

Arturo Vidal has revealed he may be forced to leave Bayern Munich in the summer when Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka joins the club.

Goretzka will join Bayern at the end of the season when his current Schalke deal expires and that has raised serious questions about Vidal’s long-term future.

The Chile international has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this month but has already ruled out a January move away from the Bundesliga giants.

Vidal is eyeing Champions League glory with Bayern, but the 30-year-old has suggested he may be forced to leave at the end of the season.

“I’m still here until June and I’m happy,” The Daily Mail quote Vidal as saying. “I hope to win the Champions League and then we’ll see what happens.

“But at this moment I am 100 per cent at Bayern and there is no chance of changing teams.”

Vidal will only have 12 months to run on his current Bayern deal at the end of the season.

The former Juventus midfielder has only started 12 league matches for Bayern this season, but only two Bundesliga players have garnered a higher WhoScored rating (Vidal – 7.58).
