Chelsea ready to cash in on star man

Chelsea are ready to cash in on Diego Costa at the end of the season and use that money to bankroll big deals to sign Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata, reports The Sun .

Antonio Conte’s side dug their heels in when Costa wanted out in the January transfer window and even resisted big money interest from China to keep the Brazilian-born Spaniard at the club to maintain their title challenge.

However, Costa’s long-term future at the club is still in doubt and with contract talks reportedly on hold the champions-elect are now ready to offload the troublesome striker in order to fund further reinforcements.

Lukaku and Morata, who have both been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge in the last 18 months, are currently being mooted away from their respective clubs with Chelsea keen to take advantage of their current situations.

Costa has scored 17 goals and registered five assists in 25 Premier League games for Chelsea this season but at 28, and given his often erratic behaviour, Conte would be wise to cash in on younger players with immense potential.
