Chelsea have released a statement insisting manager Jose Mourinho has the full backing of the club.
Defeat to Southampton on Saturday was the Blues' fourth in the Premier League this season, with Chelsea winning just eight points from the opening eight games of the campaign.
Reports strongly suggested the Portuguese boss would be shown the Stamford Bridge exit following an underwhelming start.
However, the defending champions have made it clear that Mourinho has their full backing.
"The club wants to make it clear that Jose (Mourinho) continues to have our full support," a statement read on the club's official website on Monday.
"As Jose has said himself, results have not been good enough and the team's performances must improve. However, we believe that we have the right manager to turn this season around and that he has the squad with which to do it."
Chelsea's usually reliable defence has looked anything but this campaign, with only Sunderland (18) conceding more league goals than the west London side (17) so far.
