West Ham eye move for Chelsea outcast

Antonio Rudiger has emerged as a potential transfer target for West Ham after being demoted at Chelsea, claims The Sun.

Chelea manager Frank Lampard is keen to offload Rudiger before the transfer window closes following the arrival of ex-Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva.

Rudiger has been cut from the matchday squad in three of Chelsea's opening four matches this season and has already been linked with a loan move to PSG.

With Euro 2020 to come at the end of the season, Rudiger is concerned a lack of playing time at Chelsea will cost him a place in the Germany squad.

Chelsea would prefer to offload the 27-year-old on a permanent basis to offset their stunning summer spending spree.

However, West Ham are circling and ready to pounce if Rudiger is allowed to leave Stamford Bridge on loan.

David Moyes is desperate to sign another centre-back and has already seen West Ham fail with bids for Burnley's James Tarkowski and Saint-Etienne youngster Wesley Fofana.

Rudiger was limited to just 19 league starts in the Premier League last season and appears to have dropped below Fikayo Tomori in the pecking order this season when the youngster was touted with a loan move away at the start of the summer.
