Juventus enquire after Manchester United ace that is not Pogba

Juventus have entered the race to sign wantaway Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.

Lukaku wants to leave United this summer after dropping down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has been heavily linked with a move to Inter all summer.

New Inter boss Antonio Conte has earmarked Lukaku as a top transfer target but the Serie A outfit have not yet managed to agree a deal with United.

The Red Devils have rejected the idea of a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy and also a player-plus-cash deal involving Mauro Icardi.

United are under no pressure to sell Lukaku this summer and will only entertain his departure if they recoup their full £75m investment.

It has now emerged that Juventus are keen on the Belgium international but it remains unclear whether it is simply a tactic to speed Inter’s interest along.

Juventus have already been heavily linked with a move for Inter striker Icardi but will not be able to sign the Argentina international until their rivals have a replacement lined up.

Lukaku has spent the last two seasons at United and has scored at least nine more Premier League goals than any other player at the club during that time (28).
