Neymar lashes out at Paris Saint-Germain

Neymar hit out at Paris Saint-Germain's precautionary tactics following their 2-1 defeat away to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.

The Brazil international made his comeback from injury for PSG after missing their previous four matches but failed to impact the game.

Despite momentarilly drawing PSG level in the second half, Neymar spent far too much of the game with the ball just inside Dortmund's half.

Neymar's role was to play as PSG's quarterback but it proved unsuccessful, as the 28-year-old's through balls over the top were cut out far too easily by Dortmund's defence.

In the end it was Dortmund teenager Jadon Sancho that stole the show and not Neymar or Kylian Mbappe.

Raising fresh doubts about his future at the club, Neymar questioned PSG's decision to wrap him in cotton wool ahead of Tuesday's match.

"It's hard not to play for four games," Neymar told reporters, as quoted by The Guardian. "Unfortunately it was not my choice, it came from the club, the doctors; they're the ones who made the decision, one that I did not like.

"We've had a lot of discussions on that. I wanted to play, I was feeling well but the club were afraid, and in the end I'm the one suffering."

Having missed the tailend of both of his previous two campaigns at PSG, you can certainly sympathise with the precautionary measures Tuchel's side took to ensure Neymar was even available against Dortmund.

A 2-1 defeat also means PSG are in a good position to qualify for the next round of the competition.

Neymar has scored or assisted in all but one of his last 12 matches in all competitions and has played a direct hand in 20 goals in that time.
