Antoine Griezmann held talks over a potential move to PSG before penning a new five-year deal with Atletico Madrid, the player’s sporting advisor Eric Olhats has claimed.
The France international played a vital role in Les Bleus’ progression to the final of Euro 2016, netting more goals (6) than any other player.
Interest in the striker’s signature is high, with the 25-year-old establishing himself as one of the finest offensive talents on the continent.
PSG were supposedly keen on taking Griezmann to France prior to his penning of a new Atletico deal, with Olhats now revealing talks between the player and club were held.
"There were talks with [PSG sporting director] Olivier Letang," Olhats told RMC via Yahoo! Sport.
"Paris Saint-Germain were interested in signing him. We listened to what they had to say because PSG are a club with an interesting project.
"We eventually opted for continuity with Atletico after those talks and weighing up the various offers. But you never know what happens in the future."
Barcelona and Real Madrid have also shown an interest in Griezmann, but Olhats has ruled out a possible switch to another La Liga side, adding: "Would it have been a wise decision to move to a club where he could potentially win more titles? Barcelona and Real Madrid don't need anyone in attack at the moment..,"
