Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino met with Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu this week, according to Press Association Sport via TEAMtalk, fuelling reports of a possible return to Spain.
The Argentine boss enjoyed spells with Barcelona’s rivals Espanyol as both a player and manager, while Pochettino still owns a house in Catalunya.
Barcelona are on the look out for a new manager, with Luis Enrique leaving at the end of the season, with Jorge Sampaoli and Ernesto Valverde both linked with the role.
Pochettino is another who is a rumoured target for Barcelona, with his exploits in England not going amiss this season.
Pochettino has guided Spurs to second in the Premier League this campaign, with the north London side well on course to earn a second successive top-4 finish.
The 45-year-old only recently sign a new long-term deal with Spurs, while the club were supposedly aware of the meeting between Pochettino and Bartomeu to ease concerns that he is to leave White Hart Lane at the end of the season.
