Chelsea will make a decision on Maurizio Sarri’s future at the club after the Europa League final, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Sarri has endured a difficult first season in the Premier League and there has been talk of the sack for most of the year.
Despite leading Chelsea into two finals and third place in the league in his first season, all is not well at Stamford Bridge despite an upturn in fortunes in recent weeks.
Sarri has not managed to implement the Sarriball system that Chelsea hired him for and defeat in this month’s Europa League final may prove the straw that broke the Camel’s back.
Roma have already confirmed former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri will step down as manager at the end of the season and are waiting to offer Sarri a route back to Serie A.
Sarri’s man-management of Callum Hudson-Odoi has caused particular anger this season, as it has worked against Chelsea’s desire to secure his long-term future.
Though Sarri did offer Hudson-Odoi regular playing time towards the end of the season, there is a feeling they came too late in the day to convince the England international to sign a new deal.
Sarri has won 62.9% of his matches in charge of Chelsea.
