Everton are close to securing the services of Aston Villa midfielder Idrissa Gana, reports the Birmingham Mail.
The Senegal star has been strongly linked with a move away from Villa Park this summer on the back of the Villans’ relegation, with Marseille previously keen.
However, Gana is hoping to remain in England and it seems as though Everton are close to securing his services for a fee believed to be £7.1m.
Despite Villa’s relegation, the 26-year-old was one of the club’s best performers, making 144 tackles, the second most in the Premier League last season, to contribute to a WhoScored rating of 7.25.
Should the Toffees secure Gana’s services, he would become the club’s second summer signing after goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg.
