Manchester City recall teenage goalkeeper to ease crisis
Manchester City have recalled teenager goalkeeper Aro Muric from his loan spell at NAC Breda as cover for No.1 shot-stopper Ederson, the club have confirmed.
Second choice goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is expected to miss the remainder of the season after suffering an Achilles injury in training earlier this week.
The transfer window for English clubs shut at the start of the month and Bravo’s injury left Pep Guardiola without a recognised goalkeeper to cover for Ederson.
Daniel Grimshaw, 20, is the only goalkeeper at the club and he has never made a senior appearance, forcing Guardiola scrambling for options.
City can still sign free agents for the rest of the month but the Premier League champions have decided to recall Muric from his spell in Holland.
The 19-year-old joined City from Grasshopper in 2016 and impressed in the youth ranks before earning the chance of regular first-team football with NAC Breda.
NAC Breda lost their first league game of the season 5-0 to AZ Alkmaar but followed that up with a 3-0 win over De Graafschap last weekend, in which Muric made his debut.
However, Muric has now been called back to City and will more than likely be named on the bench for their Premier League clash with Wolves on Saturday.
