Norwich City sign Championship’s best dribbler in £7m deal

Norwich City have announced they have completed a deal to sign Wigan Athletic winger Yanic Wildschut in a deal worth a reported £7m.

Wildschut, 25, who has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal, has made an impressive start to life at Wigan after joining from Middlesbrough in the summer and his performances have been caught the eye of teams further up the Championship.

Wigan are two points adrift of safety in the Championship and Warren Joyce’s task of keeping the Latics in England’s second tier has been made more difficult by the loss of Wildschut.

The Dutch winger has played a direct hand in nearly half of Wigan’s 14 league goals this season (43%) and has completed at least 17 more dribbles than any other player in the Championship this season (103).
