VfL Wolfsburg have confirmed via their official website that they have completed the signing of Nany Dimata from Oostende.
The 19-year-old has arrived on a five-year contract as the Wolves aim to put a dismal 2016/17 campaign behind them, avoiding relegation via a play-off with Braunschweig.
Dimata will bolster their attacking ranks having attracted interest from across the continent, scoring 11 goals in 24 league appearances last season and earning a call-up to Belgium’s U21 side.
A fee in the region of £8.5m is believed to have been spent on the striker, who can also play from either flank.
Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe stated: "Nany is a young, versatile front-man, whose potential to develop is something we have been paying great attention to for quite some time. We are delighted to have now secured his services.”
The youngster said of his move: “The move from Belgian to German football is a big one for me. In Wolfsburg I will be playing together with many top players, from whom I can learn a great deal. It’s a huge challenge – and one which I am thoroughly looking forward to."
