Everton are planning an audacious double swoop for Manchester United pair Wayne Rooney and Memphis Depay, reports the Sunday Express.
The Toffees host United on Sunday afternoon in what is one of the more hotly contested affairs in the Premier League calendar.
United captain and former Everton man Rooney is suspended for the visitors after the 31-year-old lost his place in the side earlier this year.
It’s heightened speculation that Rooney could be set for a Old Trafford exit, with a return to Everton on the cards.
United are reluctant to allow Rooney to leave before the end of the season, however, but Everton could find more joy in their pursuit of Memphis.
The 22-year-old has registered just 20 minutes of Premier League action this term, with he not part of Mourinho’s plans.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman has previously spoken of his admiration of Memphis with a move in January on the cards.
The Merseyside outfit would face competition for his signature from AC Milan and Roma, who are thought to be interested in the Dutch winger.
