Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has emerged as a serious doubt for their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace this weekend after suffering a hamstring injury during the international break, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Kante tweaked his hamstring midway through the first half of France’s 1-0 win away to Bulgaria on Saturday and was replaced by Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
Chelsea will conduct their own tests on Kante before putting a timeframe on his return to first-team action but it appears unlikely he will recover in time to make the trip to Premier League strugglers Palace.
With an important match against Roma in the Champions League around the corner, Antonio Conte may not even risk Kante against the Eagles on Saturday in a bid to ensure he is free to play against the Serie A giants.
In the last two Premier League campaigns, only Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye (255) has won more tackles and interceptions combined than Kante (252).
