Arsenal keen to take struggling Barcelona star on loan

According to reports in Spain, Barcelona are willing to offload summer signing Malcom as soon as January after the Brazilian has struggled to make an impact at Camp Nou.

Spanish outlet Sport (via Football London) claim that the winger will be allowed to leave the club on loan when the transfer window re-opens, with Arsenal among the most interested parties.

The former Bordeaux star came extremely close to a move to Roma before backtracking when hearing of Barcelona’s interest, so a return bid from the Italian club seems unlikely as they were left angered by the ordeal.

Serie A counterparts Inter Milan are known admirers of the youngster, who earned a first international call up over the most recent break despite making just two substitute appearances for Barcelona this season.

The 21-year-old has amassed just 25 minutes of league football all season and is not believed to be in Ernesto Valverde’s plans for the immediate future at least.

Malcom scored 12 goals in Ligue 1 last season, registering a further seven assists, averaging 2.7 successful dribbles per game.
