Tottenham boss Mourinho reaches out to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender
Jose Mourinho has spoken with Paris Saint-Germain right-back Thomas Meunier about joining Tottenham this summer, claims L'Equipe.
Meunier is set to leave PSG at the end of the season when his current contract expires and has emerged as a potential transfer target for Tottenham.
Tottenham are on the market for a new right-back after failing to sign a replacement for Kieran Trippier last summer.
The north London outfit are also open to offers for current right-back Serge Aurier, while youngster Kyle Walker-Peters is not part of Mourinho's plans.
While Meunier would reportedly still like to renew with PSG, the 28-year-old is said to have reacted positively to talks with Mourinho over the phone.
The Belgium international would follow in the footsteps of Aurier who left PSG for Tottenham in August 2017.
Meunier has spent the last four years at PSG but has failed to establish himself as the club's first-choice right-back, never even starting at least 20 league matches in a single campaign.
Meunier has made 84 appearances out of a possible 141 league matches since joining PSG but has dropped even further down the pecking order this season under Thomas Tuchel with just 14 starts in Ligue 1.
