Griezmann isn't the only Atletico Madrid player Manchester United want

Antoine Griezmann isn’t the only Atletico Madrid player Jose Mourinho has his eyes on after earmarking Jan Oblak as the goalkeeper to replace David de Gea if he joins Real Madrid this summer, reports The Independent.

Madrid have reignited their pursuit for De Gea ahead of the summer two years after their failed move for the United ace as Zinedine Zidane’s side finally look to secure a long-term successor for Iker Casillas.

While De Gea is not actively looking to force through a move to Madrid, contrary to some reports, he has reportedly told Jose Mourinho that he would like to join the European champions at one point in his career.

United will look to secure a world record fee for a goalkeeper if Madrid move for their No.1 man between the sticks this summer and will then return to Atletico, where they signed De Gea from in the first place, for his successor.

Contrary to reports suggesting Mourinho wants to bring Manchester City outcast Joe Hart to Old Trafford, the United manager reportedly wants to sign Oblak instead.

The Slovenia international is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers on the continent and has been a pillar of consistency for Diego Simeone’s side, who are also bracing themselves for a world record bid from United for Griezmann this summer.

In the last three La Liga campaigns Oblak has kept at least seven more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper (45).
