Chinese Super League star fuels Arsenal switch

Hulk has conceded he could cut short his time in China to secure his ‘dream’ move to the Premier League and join Arsenal.

The Brazil international is approaching the first year of his stint in China after securing a sensational £320,000-a-week move to Shanghai SIPG in June last year.

Hulk, 30, has previously been linked to the Premier League but has never played in one of Europe’s top leagues after leaving Porto to join Russian giants Zenit in 2012.

“It’s always been a dream,” Hulk toward Portuguese broadcaster Sport TV, via The Daily Express when asked about the prospect of moving to England. “It’s a very competitive championship and the stadiums are full in every game, no matter what the team.

“I always follow the league and I have always supported Arsenal because of their way of playing. But unfortunately they have not won trophies in recent years.”

Hulk is currently the highest rated player in the Chinese Super League (8.06) after playing a direct hand in eight goals in nine appearances (four goals, four assists).

Not only that, but he has also completed the most dribbles in China’s top tier this term (45).
