Fiorentina weigh up bid for Atalanta striker

Fiorentina are interested in Atalanta striker Andrea Petagna and could firm up their interest with a summer bid, reports Corriere dello Sport, via Football Italia.

Petagna, 21, has been in fine form for Atalanta this season and his performances were enough to earn him a spot in the current Italy senior squad for the first time.

The former AC Milan youth academy product has reportedly caught the eye of Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino, who is keen to add more Italian player to the squad.

Fiorentina have already moved in that direction with the recent signings of Marco Sportiello and Riccardo Saponara, with Petagna now also on their radar.

Petagna has scored five goals and registered as many assists in 25 appearances in the league this season, while an average of 2.3 dribbles per game is only bettered by Alejandro Gomez (2.4) in the Atalanta squad.
