Manchester United hope to announce the signing of Paul Pogba from Juventus before the season gets underway, reports Manchester Evening News.
The France international has been strongly linked with a return to Old Trafford this summer with a world record switch on the cards.
Real Madrid had been targetting Pogba, but United are now in pole position to land the midfielder, who gained a better WhoScored rating (7.81) than any other player in Serie A last season.
It is now understood Pogba's arrival will be officially announced before the new Premier League campaign kicks off next week.
As and when Pogba's transfer is confirmed, he will become United's fourth summer signing following the captures of Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
