Conte’s Chelsea future to be decided after FA Cup final

Antonio Conte has confirmed his Chelsea future will be decided after the FA Cup final.

The Italian is widely expected to leave Chelsea at the end of the season after two whirlwind years at Stamford Bridge.

Conte is not interested in stepping down as Chelsea boss, which may force Roman Abramovich into paying a hefty compensation bill.

However, the 48-year-old has revealed a decision on his Chelsea future will be made after the FA Cup final on May 19.

“It is very difficult to comment on speculation because there has been speculation around me from the start of the season, after the first game against Burnley,” The Daily Telegraph quote Conte as saying.

“This speculation is not important to me because my focus is only to do my work in the best possible way with my players. I am doing this from the start until the end.

“There are only two weeks and this season will finish, and you will know if there is a different situation or if you see me again next season.”

Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique and Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri have already been heavily linked with the job of replacing Conte.

After leading Chelsea to the Premier League title in his first season in charge, the Blues have made a disastrous defence to their throne.

Chelsea languish 25 points off champions Manchester City and have lost four more games this season (9) than they did when they won the title (5).
