Manchester City star vows to see out contract

Sergio Aguero insists he has no intention of leaving Manchester City this summer and will see out the remaining two years of contract before contemplating a move away from the club.

The Argentina international has been regularly linked with a move away from City since the start of the year when it became apparent he was no longer one of the first names on the teamsheet under Pep Guardiola.

Gabriel Jesus, who joined in January from Brazilian champions Palmeiras, is now Guardiola’s first choice striker and with the City manager still chasing Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez more questions have been asked of Aguero’s future.

However, the 29-year-old has reiterated his commitment to the club and is only focusing on continuing at City.

“I still have two years on my contract with Manchester City,” he told Chinese outlet Xinhua. “I feel very happy here, so I will fulfil my contract to stay here until the end of my contract.

“I have not thought about where to play next. I just want to focus on the work here.”

Aguero has spent the last six years with City after joining from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has established himself as one of the best goalscorers in Premier League history.

In fact, since his arrival Aguero has scored at least 37 more goals than any other player in the Premier League (122).
