Chelsea captain John Terry is on the verge of sealing a lucrative move to China where he will earn £12m-a-year, claims The Sun .
Terry, 35, is out of contract at the end of the season and Chelsea have already intimated they will not renew his deal when Antonio Conte replaces Guus Hiddink.
The former England captain was sent off against Sunderland at the weekend in what proved to be his final appearance for Chelsea, bringing an unfortunate end to his 21-year association with the club.
Terry’s former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is keen to bring the central defender to Shanghai SIPG with him but the Swede can face competition from former ex-Chelsea boss Phil Scolari at Guangzhou Evergrande.
The Chelsea skipper has only started 24 league matches this season, which is his second lowest return for a league campaign in the last seven years. Not only that, but this will mark the first season he has failed to score in the league in that time.
