Verratti intends to leave Paris-Saint Germain this summer
Marco Verratti has told PSG sporting director Antero Henrique that he wishes to leave the Parisian giants, reports French publication L’Equipe.
The Italy international is one of the most sought after midfielders on the continent, but it seemed as though any side would be priced out of a move for Verratti.
However, the 24-year-old has now signalled his desired to leave PSG, which is likely to trigger a mad transfer scramble for his services.
Barcelona have previously courted Verratti, while a host of Premier League side are also set to express their interest in the former Pescara midfielder.
Serie A champions Juventus have also been strongly linked with a move for the Italian, who impressed for PSG last season despite their failure to land the Ligue 1 title.
Indeed, only teammate Thiago Motta (91.5) averaged more passes per game than Verratti (87.5) in France’s top tier last term, while only Alexandre Lacazette (7.57) gained a better WhoScored rating than the PSG star (7.54).
