Liverpool want to sign Netherlands international this month
Jurgen Klopp is keen for Liverpool to complete a deal to sign highly rated Netherlands international Quincy Promes ahead of their rivals this month, reports The Daily Mirror.
Promes, 25, has spent the the last three years with Russian Premier League outfit Spartak Moscow and only signed a new long-term deal at the start of the season.
Liverpool, who are without Sadio Mane for the next month due to his participation at the Africa Cup of Nations, want to complete a deal to sign Promes this month in order to maintain their title challenge.
Spartak Moscow are reportedly demanding £25m for Promes, who has been in sensational form for the Russian outfit this season since settling down and appearing to shelve his bad boy reputation that he picked up from his younger days as a professional.
Promes is currently the highest rated player in the Russian Premier League (7.57) after scoring six goals and registering a further six assists in 14 league appearances this season. Not only that, but only two players are averaging more shots per game than the Spartak star (3.5), while no player is creating more chances per game (3.1).
