Arsenal eye up long term Cech replacement

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering a move for Toulouse goalkeeper Alban Lafont as a long term replacement for current number one Petr Cech, according to the Sun.

At 35 years of age, Cech is very much in the autumn years of his career and his performances have begun to dwindle.

With David Ospina also expected to depart the Gunners this summer, Wenger is aware he needs to bring in another goalkeeper without running the risk of being caught short at the back.

It remains to be seen whether Wojciech Szczesny will remain at the Emirates Stadium upon the culmination of his loan spell with Roma and Wenger is looking to ensure he has ample goalkeeping options ahead of the coming campaign.

18-year-old Lafont has emerged as a potential signing having made his debut in the 2015/16 season and has gone on to make 60 top-flight appearances for Toulouse.
