Manchester United confident of landing £50m January signing

Manchester United are growing increasingly confident of landing Tottenham left-back Danny Rose in a £50m deal in January, reports The Daily Mail.

Mourinho has made signing a new left-back his priority when the January transfer window and has earmarked Rose as his top target.

Danny Rose has endured a turbulent time under Mauricio Pochettino since returning from injury this season and the Tottenham head coach has even been forced to deny a rift with the 27-year-old.

The England international wants to move north at one stage in his career to return to his roots and United believe they are the frontrunners for Rose’s signature.

United know that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is notoriously difficult to deal with and that may scupper their attempts in January, although the Red Devils do feel there is a deal to be done.

A knee injury has limited Rose’s involvement in 2017 but last season he finished the Premier League as the highest WhoScored rated left-back (7.21).
