Arsenal manager rubbishes move for Manchester City outcast

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has denied reports suggesting the club are interested in making a £15m move for out-of-favour Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart in the summer.

Reports emerged on Wednesday evening claiming Arsenal were interested in signing a new goalkeeper at the end of the season after Petr Cech’s disappointing form this season, with Hart on the shortlist.

Hart has spent the season on loan with Serie A side Torino after being deemed surplus to requirements by City manager Pep Guardiola at the start of the season and isn’t expected to return to the club for next season.

Torino have already confirmed they’d like to extend Hart’s stay beyond the end of the season but are unlikely to be able to finance the move, which leaves the England international’s future up in the air.

It remains to be seen whether City would give the greenlight for Hart to join one of their title rivals but Wenger has insists he has no interest in signing the 29-year-old.

“No,” talkSPORT quote Wenger as saying when asked if he was interested in signing Hart. “I have three world class goalkeepers and I’m happy with what I have.”

Only Josip Posavec (5) has committed more errors that directly led to an opposition goal in Serie A this season than Hart (2).
