Tottenham have agreed a €70m (£64.4m) deal with Juventus for outcast forward Paulo Dybala, claims Sky Sports.
Juventus deem Dybala surplus to requirements and are trying to force the Argentina international out of the club this summer.
Manchester United were considered frontrunners for his signature earlier this month but withdrew their interest after failing to agree personal terms with Dybala’s camp.
Tottenham are now free to talk to Dybala about a potential move but it remains to be seen whether they can overcome the problems United faced.
One of the major sticking points United failed to overcome was untangling Dybala’s image rights, which would reportedly have cost the Red Devils an additional £13.7m.
Dybala, who would prefer to stay at Juventus, also wanted a huge wage hike to become one of the club’s highest earners on £350,000-a-week.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus last summer has pushed Dybala to the fringes at the club and the 25-year-old only managed five league goals last term.
Despite a lack of action in front of goal, Dybala had the best cross accuracy (32.9%) of the 63 players that attempted at least 75 crosses in Serie A last term.
