Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani has revealed he would be open to returning to former club Napoli.
Cavani, 28, spent three years at Napoli before moving to PSG in 2013 for a staggering £55m.
The Uruguay international has been forced to play out wide to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic through the middle for the majority of his time with PSG and refused to rule out returning to Serie A.
“ Would I think about returning to Serie A? Sure,” Cavani told Corriere del Mezzogiorno. “The future is always unpredictable and I would love to go back to the place where I spent three fantastic seasons.
“So would I go back to Napoli? Why not… I think in terms of the Scudetto, they may still struggle to top the table but they have an organised game that I like.
“I really hope this is going to be their year.”
During his time at Napoli, Cavani scored at least 47 league goals more than any of his Napoli teammates (78), with those strikes coming from just 104 appearances in Serie A. In fact, no player scored more goals than Cavani in the league in this period.
